Belarus-Kazakhstan investment forum

The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Belarus, together with the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organized an online Belarus-Kazakhstan investment forum.

Participating in the event were the BelCCI Chairman Vladimir Ulakhovich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belarus Askar Beisenbayev, acting Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ardak Zebeshev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of KAZAKH INVEST JSC Zhandos Temirgali, representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bellesbumprom concern, regional administrations of Belarus and Kazakhstan, Astana International Financial Center, more than 50 Belarusian and 40 Kazakhstani enterprises and organizations.

 The forum addressed the prospects for the development of investment and economic cooperation between Belarus and Kazakhstan, measures to support investors and the advantages of doing business within the framework of preferential regimes in the two countries, ongoing and promising investment projects of Belarus and Kazakhstan, including at the regional level, the potential of the woodworking industry of Belarus, financial instruments to support investment activities.

 The participants noted that Belarus and Kazakhstan have long-standing partnership relations. The countries are successfully cooperating in engineering, agro-industrial complex, manufacturing sector. Even though last year, for objective reasons, there was a decrease in bilateral trade, there has been positive mutual trade development during the four months of this year. Seven joint ventures for the assembly of industrial and agricultural equipment are successfully operating in Kazakhstan; there is significant potential in advancing investment cooperation in information technology, construction, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and other areas.

"Participating in the online forum are representatives of enterprises from various industries. This speaks of the desire of businesses not only to develop traditional spheres of interaction but also to discover new areas of successful joint work for the good of the two states," the Chairman of the BelCCI Vladimir Ulakhovich said.
