The Belarus-Myanmar Business Forum, organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was held in Yangon, Myanmar.
The event was attended by over 40 representatives of Belarusian government agencies and businesses, and over 60 Myanmar companies. A total of 44 enterprises from both countries were represented.
The business forum began with a plenary session attended by Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov and Myanmar Minister of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Wa Wa Maung.
The business program included presentations by Belarusian and Myanmar companies. Participants also discussed financing instruments for Belarusian exports, exchange trading mechanisms in Belarus, maintenance of aircraft and their components, and the possibility of supplying Myanmar with special-purpose fabrics and Belarusian dairy products. Sixteen bilateral commercial documents and agreements worth $9 million were signed. These documents concern the supply of Belarusian tractors, trucks, ambulances, and medicines to Myanmar, as well as the assembly of equipment in Myanmar. Memoranda of understanding and cooperation were signed between logistics companies, banks, and manufacturing companies in Belarus and Myanmar.
An agreement was signed between the Gomel branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Mandalay Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The signing ceremony was attended by BelCCI Deputy Chairperson Elena Malinovskaya and Mandalay Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairperson U Tin Lat.
"This is the third bilateral business forum we will hold in 2025." "We began this year together in Yangon on January 10, then met in Minsk on March 6, and now we are back in Yangon to conclude this busy and productive year," emphasized BelCCI Deputy Chair Elena Malinovskaya. "It is gratifying to note the continued interest of companies on both sides. I am confident that the agreements signed during the forum will contribute to the further growth of trade between Belarus and Myanmar."
During the current business forum, Myanmar business representatives expressed active interest in the supply of medical equipment and food products from Belarus, as well as logistics and aviation issues. They are also open to cooperation in the textile industry. To explore this issue in more detail, representatives of Myanmar companies plan to visit Belarusian textile manufacturing facilities in the near future.
