
The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has launched a new business course as part of the Academy of Export project. The new program, "New Conditions – New Opportunities", has been developed by the BelCCI in order to provide managers and specialists of exporting enterprises and organizations with comprehensive support at all export cycle stages.
The business course opening was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the BelCCI Denis Meleshkin, Head of the Department for Coordination of Foreign Economic Activity at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yaroslav Mitskevich, Director of the Business Training Center of the BelCCI Elena Khoroshevskaya, the Academy of Export lecturers and students.
The Deputy Chairman of the BelCCI noted that the Academy of Export has been held for 5 years already; more than 3 thousand students have received training. "The new business course is not only a continuation of training in the areas relevant for export, but also an updated list of topics that is up to date," Denis Meleshkin emphasized.
The program is based on the following 12 thematic modules with updated content embracing the main areas of export activities at the present stage: "Export strategies and marketing research", "Assessment of the export market potential", "Sales management", "Public speaking techniques", "New approaches to organization and holding of exhibitions", "Customs support for an export project", "Export contract", "Management accounting: cost management", "Transport logistics and cargo transportation", "Taxes in export activities", "Business etiquette and protocol", "Eurasian economic union".
"The modules are designed in such a way as to train representatives of enterprises in building export strategies. In the Export contract module, issues related to the sanctions adopted against Belarus will be considered. And trainings under the Eurasian Economic Union module will be held jointly with speakers from the Eurasian Economic Commission, who will talk about interaction and opportunities through the EEC. Well-known business coaches, teachers of specialized disciplines from leading universities, experts with rich practical experience in the field of foreign economic activity have been invited as lecturers," the BelCCI Deputy Chairman said.
Director of the Business Training Center of the BelCCI Elena Khoroshevskaya noted that the number of the business course participants is increasing every year, and representatives of more than 200 enterprises will participate this year. They will receive up-to-date knowledge and will be able to apply it in practice, contributing to the enterprises' developing and entering new markets.
"This year, the Sales management module has been developed, which focuses on distribution. After attending the Assessment of the export market potential module, the students will understand how to look for new partners, assess the Belarusian market and enter new levels of cooperation. In addition, the course includes separate lessons on sanctions regulation, the nuances and subtleties that enterprises should take into account when concluding contracts with their counterparties in order to avoid defaulting on any obligations," Elena Khoroshevskaya explained.
She also stressed that exhibition activities have been included in a separate module so that representatives of enterprises understand how participation in international exhibitions contributes to the promotion of Belarusian products.
"The Business etiquette and protocol module will focus on far-arc countries, because the markets of these states are in priority for Belarusian enterprises," the BelCCI's Business Training Center Director said.
