
The Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Ulakhovich takes part in the 12th World Chambers Congress in Dubai.
The Congress is organised by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the World Chambers Federation (WCF) in cooperation with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The three-day event is held under the theme "Generation Next: Chambers 4.0". Heads of business associations and business leaders from around the world discuss the role of chambers of commerce and industry in promoting global trade, new challenges and opportunities arising in the pandemic time, as well as transforming CCIs and their services in response to changing business needs and influenced by modern trends and technologies.
The Chairman of the BelCCI held meetings and negotiations with the heads of the International Chamber of Commerce, Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and certain regions of Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Lipetsk Region), Ukraine, Mongolia, Syria, Madagascar, Jordan, Benin, Colombia, Emirate of Sharjah, Turin (Italy) on the first day of the Congress. Topical issues of cooperation between the CCIs, plans for holding joint business events and promoting contacts between business communities were considered during the meetings.
In particular, the issues of preparation to the upcoming meeting of the Advisory Council of the Heads of CCIs of the EAEU Member States were discussed with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin, and plans for organisation of the next meeting of the Belarusian-Ukrainian Business Cooperation Advisory Council were discussed with the President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gennadiy Chyzhykov. President of the Lipetsk CCI Union Anatoly Goltsov presented the committee for cooperation with the Republic of Belarus appointed under the Chamber, which includes heads of the enterprises interested in development of industrial cooperation, and also confirmed his readiness to organise visits of several specialised delegations to Belarus shortly to hold meetings with Belarusian businesspeople and carry out visits to the enterprises.
The issues of interaction at the level of the International Chamber of Commerce and the World Chambers Federation, as well as participation in the events of the next World Congress were discussed at the meeting of the BelCCI Chairman and the ICC Director Vincent O’Brien.
The previously reached agreements on participation of Belarusian enterprises in one of the international universal exhibitions in Mongolia, as well as joint work on selection of enterprises of the two countries interested in establishing joint ventures in the fields of livestock and textile industries were confirmed by Vladimir Ulakhovich and the President of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Otgondavaa Amartuvshin during the negotiations.
The heads of African Chambers of Commerce and Industry confirmed their interest in taking part in the third Belarusian-African economic forum, which is planned for holding in Cairo in May next year, as well as in expanding business cooperation between the African continent businesses and Belarusian manufacturers of food and engineering products. Senior officials of the Colombian CCI expressed interest of Colombian companies in establishing contacts with Belarusian chemical enterprises.
Agreements on participation of Belarusian enterprises in one of the international exhibitions in the field of mechanical engineering held in the emirate, as well as on organisation of visit of a delegation consisting of interested business leaders to Belarus in order to consider the issue of investing in specific projects in Minsk and regional centers of the country were reached at the meeting with the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Emirate of Sharjah Abdullah Sultan Al Owais.
