Participation of the Belarusian delegation in the Belarusian-Myanmar business forum

The Belarusian delegation led by Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov took part in the Belarusian-Myanmar business forum, which took place in the city of Yangon.

The event, organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry together with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, and large domestic enterprises.

During the forum, the Myanmar side demonstrated the economic potential of the state and announced promising areas of cooperation with Belarus. In turn, Deputy Chairman of the BelCCI Elena Malinovskaya spoke about the flagships of the Belarusian economy. OJSC "Grodno Azot", OJSC "Minsk Automobile Plant", RUE "Management Company of the Belfarmprom Holding" presented their products.

At this business forum, the Myanmar side was particularly interested in supplies of pharmaceutical products and agricultural machinery from Belarus. The Belarusian delegation is looking at Myanmar rice and coffee.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar were established in 1999. During this time, mutual visits of high-level delegations and meetings of business circles were organized. In 2011, a cooperation agreement was concluded with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. In 2013, the Joint Belarusian-Myanmar Commission on Trade and Economic Issues was created.

Belarus supplies agricultural machinery, electrical equipment, medicines to Myanmar, and imports textiles and shoes.
