A large-scale exhibition event, the China International Import Expo (CIIE), is taking place in Shanghai for the sixth time. The event is held under the patronage of the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping. More than 150 countries are participating this year.
Belarus takes part in CIIE every year. This time, more than 70 Belarusian enterprises and organizations demonstrate their best products, achievements and developments that are promising for promotion to the Chinese market within the framework of the National Exposition of the Republic of Belarus, organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Belinterexpo exhibition unitary enterprise of the BelCCI. Exhibition stands of the Belarusian exposition are presented in the country pavilion and some commercial pavilions.
The Belarusian Country Pavilion, created in the architectural concept of the Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater building, attracts the attention of visitors at first sight with its special decor and bright illumination. Visitors can enjoy performances by Bolshoi Theater soloists and ballet dancers, as well as the Serenade string quintet. Besides, fashion shows demonstrating the collections of the Bellegprom concern enterprises and fur products from Belkoopsoyuz are organized in the pavilion. Visitors are greeted by holograms of young people in Belarusian national costumes.
From the first day of the exhibition, the country pavilion has been hosting the Days of Regions of Belarus with the invitation of Chinese partners from the provinces – sister cities of the Belarusian regions and the capital. On November 5, the Day of Minsk in Shanghai was held, with presentations by representatives of the capital's enterprises and tastings of their products, as well as B2B meetings and negotiations. Regional events will be held at the Belarusian country pavilion every day throughout the duration of the exhibition.
The commercial pavilion "Food and Agricultural Products" features the greatest number of Belarusian exhibitors. Food is in great demand on the Chinese market, and in this pavilion, Belarusian products are represented by more than 30 companies. Domestic producers have brought their reknowned dairy products to Shanghai, such as milk powder, new types of cheese, milk for baby food, cream and frozen cheese, condensed milk, including with different flavors, and ice cream. Especially for the Chinese market, Belarusian enterprises have prepared a line of lactose-free dairy products, dry and whole milk products.
Visitors can appreciate high-quality meat products, including sausage delicacies and smoked meats, beef and pork products, and novelties from Mogilev and Brest meat processing plants.
Sweet lovers will be pleased with the variety of confectionery products: chocolate, caramel, marmalade and flour delicacies. An assortment of alcoholic (vodka, tinctures and balms) and non-alcoholic drinks is also offered. In addition, Belarusian participants hold presentations and tastings of their products.
Inside the pavilion, exciting shows are held for visitors with master classes on preparing the Belarusian national cuisine dishes from Anton Kalenik, a famous chef from Belarus.
The food pavilion features exhibits from many countries, including Azerbaijan, Russia, Singapore, Mexico, Argentina, Romania, South Korea, Georgia, Malaysia, France, Thailand, Serbia, South Africa and others. Along with Belarusian manufacturers, famous world brands demonstrate their products, for example, Nestle, Bayer, Wilmar, PepsiCo, and many others.
In the "High-Tech Equipment and Information Technologies" pavilion, domestic petrochemical enterprises demonstrate samples of synthetic yarns, nitrogen fertilizers, industrial chemicals, and more. The industrial potential of Belarus is presented at the exhibition in Shanghai by the Research and Production Holding of Precision Engineering "Planar", JSC "Gomselmash" and the Byelorrussian Steel Works.
The visitors of the "Consumer Goods" pavilion are presented with textile and fur products, as well as linen products. Particular attention is paid to the new collection from the leading fur brand of Belarus, GNL, called "Silk Road". High-quality fur products from the InterProdTrade enterprise of Belkoopsoyuz are characterized by modern design and new technological developments in tailoring and finishing.
"Merch Pervogo" brand has been introduced to the Chinese market, which has brought a collection of sweatshirts with exclusive quotes from the President of the Republic of Belarus in Russian and Chinese.
In addition, the Belarusian stand presents peat products from Beltopgaz enterprises, which are already known to Chinese consumers.
Exchange, customs, educational and logistics services, developments of domestic educational and scientific institutions, as well as the potential of the country's free economic zones are demonstrated in the "Trade in Services" pavilion. The traditional joint stand is represented by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the State Committee for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education. They present educational services and innovative developments, including artificial emeralds, technology for microelectronics, graphene-containing material and products based on it, technology for applying composite nanocoatings, heat-resistant materials, and technology for the production of dry bacterial starters. In total, the pavilion presents about 40 scientific and technical developments of the institutions and organizations of the Ministry of Education and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The exhibition is accompanied by a business and cultural program. On November 3, the Belarus-Shanghai business forum was held, organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai. At the event, the export opportunities of Belarusian companies participating in the forum and national exposition were presented, and business negotiations took place.
